Prithu lead the Chitwan Tigers in EPL

Chitwan Tigers named Prithu Baskota as their skipper for the TVS Everest Premier League T-20 cricket tournament that is slated for December 18-30 at the Tribhuvan University Stadium.

At a press conference on DEC 11, President of ‘Chitwan Tigers’, Kishor Bhattrai stated that, “Baskota was handed the responsibility because of his experience in the youth and national teams”. “We are the youngest team in this EPL and we believe that Prithu will lead the team perfectly,” he added.

As a skipper Baskota had played the 2012 ICC U-19 World Cup in Australia, while he also helped Nepal win the ACC U-15 and U-17 Elite Cup titles. Dipendra Singh Airee as their marquee player, while Anil Mandal, Lalit Singh Bhandari and Dilip Nath are other national team players included in the Tigers squad.

Kalam Ali is the bowling coach and Dipendra Chaudhary is the batting coach of the team. Every team of EPL franchise need to have three international players in their squad.

Bhatrai also said that, “We are soon unveiling foreign players for of our team”. He also informed that “two of them will be from the Indian Premier League of this season and all the three of them have Ranji experience,”.

Kathmandu Kings XI, Lalitpur Patriots, Biratnagar Warriors, Bhairahawa Gladiators, Pokhara Rhinos and Chitwan Tigers are the six teams, who will take part in the TVS Everest Premier League T-20 cricket tournament. The winners will be get Rs 2.1 million.
