South Africa defeated New Zealand in the 5th ODI of the series, held at Hamilton, New Zealand by scoring 149 runs in 32.2 over taking South Africa to the World’s No. 1 position in ODI ranking. Faf du Plessis gave an outstanding performance of 51 runs in 90 balls which lead SA to be the winner having 2-2 score with New Zealand till the 4th match.
After the batting of New Zealand, SA had to cross the target of 150 runs in 50 over. When Q de Kock and HM Amla made 6 and 8 runs respectively, Faf du Plessis batted in the third place, scoring 51 runs in total, that boosted SA’s score to chase the target of 150 runs in less than 33 over.
Also, the bowler of the SA team, K Rabada, took 3 wickets to wrap up New Zealand’s score to 149 runs, which helped Rabada to achieve the title of Man of the Match of the game.
