Bangalore breathes its last at IPL this season, gets ousted from the playoff

It is confirmed! Royal Challengers Bangalore will not make it to the play offs in this season of Indian Premier League. After Bangalore lost its match against Mumbai Indians with 5 wickets in last night’s match at Wankhede Stadium, Bangalore’s last hope of reaching play offs has been crushed down. Despite a decent all-rounder performance from Bangalore’s Pawan Negi, the team failed to break their losing streak.

Bangalore batted first and put up a target of 163 runs at the loss of 8 wickets, which was successfully chased by Mumbai team in 19 overs and 5 balls at the loss of 5 wickets. Bangalore’s wicket keeper AB de Villiers made 43 runs, Pawan Negi contribute crucial 35 runs, Kedar Jadeja hit 28 runs and skipper Kohli made a disaapointing 20 runs that could not propel the team to the much needed victory.

Jose Butler added 33 runs for Mumbai team while Nitish Rana contributed 27 runs. Skipper Rohit Sharma was not out at 56 runs, while Bangalore’s Pawan Nagei picked two wickets.

Mumbai’s Michelle McMillan and Krunal Pandey picked 3 and 2 wickets respectively. With this win, Mumbai Indians have reached the top spot with 16 points scored by winning 8 matches out of 10 played. Bangalore on the other hand, Bangalore scored only 5 points with only 3 matches left to be played
