Andrew Tye’s dislocated shoulder costs him IPL 2017

The Gujarat Lions pace bowler Andrew Tye suffered a dislocated shoulder and this had led into his exit from the remainder of IPL 2017.

It was in a match against Mumbai Indians on Saturday that Tye suffered the injury while he was trying to field a ball, after which he was immediately taken off the field and rushed to the hospital.

Tye who was in his stellar form and a match winner for the Gujarat Lions team in the competition, expressed his sadness about the injury and his abrupt exit from the competition. Tye said, “Unfortunately this is the end of the tournament for me,” he added. “As heartbreaking as it is, I have enjoyed my time here. The people at Gujarat Lions have looked after me well. The fans have been unbelievable. The messages of support and good wishes I have got from everyone have been overwhelming. All I can say is, thanks to the fans and the franchise for giving me this opportunity and hopefully I will be back in the IPL next year.”

Tye has taking 12 wickets in six matches, and has had a dream debut to his IPL campaign, wherein he picked five wickets for 17, including a hat-trick. His team has not yet finalized a replacement for him as yet.
