4th victory for Nepali U19 team, poor batting performance still the problem

Nepal’s U-19 team have crushed Malaysia by 5 wickets in their second last match in the ICC U-19 World Cup Qualifiers being played in Singapore Cricket Club.

Malaysia managed to score 89 runs in 35.1 overs before losing their all batsmen.

After losing the toss, Malaysia started their first inning with Syed Mubarak, and Saifullah Malik, lost S. Malik for 0 after just playing 3 balls and S Mubarak made 46 runs.Malaysia tried to bring their batting line to the path with Saifullah Malik and Virandeep Singh, made 58 runs in partnership.The Malaysian batsmen looked oblivious against the Sandeep Lamichhane who took seven wickets for 13 in his 9.1 overswhereas Shahab Alam and Rijan Dhakal took 2 and 1 wickets respectively.

Nepal’s Rohit Paudel scored 34 runs off 37 balls, including the winning runs and succeeded to score 92 in 22.2 overs losing 5 wickets. But still Nepal’s U-19 batting was poor. Nepal lose their important 5 wickets for 44 runs in 15 over. Virandeep Singh and Hafizuffin Gaffer from Malaysia’s bowler took 3 and 2 wickets each.

Nepal will play against Afghanistan on Tuesday.
